Information post
Jul. 14th, 2019 08:35 pmThis is a work in progress! I have to do some work to pretty it up and split things between a few pages!
CHARACTER NAME: Archer / Apollo Akagawa
CHARACTER AGE: 34
SERIES: Pokemon - Specifically the GSC era, with some added information taken from Stadium 2 and Heartgold/SoulSilver.
CHRONOLOGY: Some time after the events of the game.
CLASS: Unregistered. (He is totally a villain though)
HOUSING: Maurtia Falls Individual Housing
POWER:
Pokemon.
Archer will be in possession of four of his pokemon. They are as follows:
Houndoom, a fire/dark canine pokemon immune to psychic powers.
Level 37 -
Competitive moveset -
Flamethrower, an attack where the user spews flames on the opponent.
Swagger, a move that frustrates and confuses the opponent but makes the opponent stronger in return. This attack does not affect humans any more than a dog swaggering would.
Smog, the foe is attacked with a discharge of filthy gases. It may also poison the target. The poison is non-lethal and will work its way out of the victim’s system in due time, but can cause the victim to lose consciousness if they aren’t given medical treatment in time.
Bite, The user bites with vicious fangs. It may make the foe flinch.
Additionally, outside of a battle, Houndoom is capable of carrying out moves that are reasonable for its biology. In example, it can blow flames at lesser powers than a flame thrower, scare people with its roar, or intimidate people with a leer. These actions however are not supernatural in nature. Meaning, for example, that unless someone was going to be scared by a large dog roaring at them they will not be scared into running away.
Houndour, a fire/dark canine pokemon immune to psychic powers. Evolves into Houndoom.
Level 35.
Competitive moveset -
Flamethrower, an attack where the user spews flames on the opponent.
Faint Attack, The user draws up to the foe disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. It hits without fail.
Bite, The user bites with vicious fangs. It may make the foe flinch.
Roar, The target is scared off, and a different Pokémon is dragged out. In the wild, this ends a battle against a single Pokémon. When used on humans this move will give them a strong urge to flee, however it can be resisted.

Misdreavus, a ghost type pokemon that eats fear.
Level 38.
Competitive Moveset -
Psychic, The target is hit by a strong telekinetic force. It may also reduce the target's defense against future attacks of a non-physical nature.
Shadowball, The user hurls a shadowy blob at the target. This may also lower the target's defense against future attacks of a non-physical nature.
Curse, The user will lose half of its maximum HP (rounded down) and put a curse on the target. If the user has less than half of its maximum HP remaining, the move will execute fully but cause the user to faint. A cursed Pokémon will lose ¼ of its maximum HP at the end of each turn. The curse will remain until the Pokémon switches out or the battle ends. When used against humans this move will cause an increasing sense of dread which is accompanied by feeling ill. The effect will fade should the victim leave the general location of the user.
Pain Split, a move which adds the health of the opponent and the health of the user, and splits the difference qually between them. Essentially, the pokemon shares its pain with the target, and the targets pain with it, either losing or gaining energy based on how the exchange is carried out.
Additionally, outside of a battle, Misdreavus is capable of carrying out moves that are reasonable for its biology. In example, it can yell. A lot. This thing is just known for screeching at the top of its not-lungs to scare the crap out of people. Honestly? Its inherent biology mostly just lets it scream at people and become incorporeal.
Golbat, poison/flying and shaped like a (bat-shaped) friend.
Level 35.
Competitive moveset -
Confuse Ray, The target is exposed to a sinister ray that triggers confusion.
Wing Attack, The attacking Pokémon spreads its wings and charges at the target.
Bite, The user bites with vicious fangs. It may make the foe flinch
Protect, It enables the user to evade attacks by creating a temporary barrier. Its chance of failing rises if it is used in succession.
Additionally, outside of a battle, Golbat is capable of carrying out moves that are reasonable for its biology. In example, it can screech at a loud volume to startle opponents. These actions however are not supernatural in nature. Meaning that an opponent will be no more likely to be startled than they would be at any other similar noise.
Outside of the above mentioned moves, his pokemon do not know any TM moves.
In the case of the level 50/100 Misdreavus I am moving its level to be similar to that of his other pokemon, but keeping the canon moves.
Additionally, Archer’s pokemon cannot gain more than three levels per month. In order to level up, they require training as they would in their home world, be that training through battle or other means available. While two of his pokemon are capable of evolution, I will put in a power update in the event that happens.
While the competitive moves will, in general, work on all pokemon excepting type immunities and have some reasonable form of effect on humans (IE: Flame thrower burning a human, or Psychic giving them a nasty headache and/or mental pain) if a move would not be able to affect a being due to some physical reason - like non-physical psychic type moves against a robot, or an imPort being immune to fire being attacked by flame thrower - the moves will be void against that person.
Of note: He is not coming into the game with any healing items on him, therefore his pokemon will be required to take time to heal after battles unless a healer sees to them since there are no Pokemon Centres. I imagine that the pokemon would recover at a similar rate to what an imPort might, but no faster.
2. Hospitality.
When Archer offers someone something (be that his hand, a glass of wine, or a seat) and they accept it, their inhibitions are lowered similar to how they would be if they had been dosed with truth serum. However, in order for this effect to continue, he has to tell the truth. Should he lie will break the effect and the affected person will be released from the ability’s hold. If not broken, the hold will last for the remainder of the conversation and wear off over the course of a few minutes rather than suddenly.
Should the effect be allowed to end naturally, the person affected is unlikely to know they had the power used on them - though by no means is this guaranteed, and those who are familiar with such powers or the effects of truth serum will likely be able to see it for what it is, possibly even while under its effect. If the power is ended abruptly, usually by a lie, the person is far more likely to notice they were put under the power of someone’s ability.
3. Limited X-Ray vision.
When there is darkened glass or plastic in front of Archer’s eyes (no greater a distance than 4 inches) he has x-ray vision that goes as far as his natural vision allows.
In short: When he wears sunglasses he can see through walls. Shutter shades need not apply.
He will have to figure out the mechanics of this ability on his own. Because it’s funnier that way.
